Yesterday afternoon I took some time out to get a third vaccination, because I'm worried that the stress from everything going on, and all the travel I'm doing leaves me at greater risk of contracting covid. As before I got the same vaccine that I got earlier in the year, the Pfizer variant. Unfortunately, the third shot kicked my ass so hard I'm pretty sure it broke one of its feet off in my rectum.
By the time I got home that afternoon (because I had to run a few errands after getting the shot) I was feeling a little tired and my arm was a little sore around the injection site. By 2200 local time, I was in bed and out light a light. For all the good that did me.
I was up pretty much every hour on the hour with a raging headache and a fever. At some point, I got up and found a second blanket and turned the heat up in the house (sound familiar?), which lasted until I was soaked with sweat and kicked all the covers off. I found one of them on my suitcase when I woke up. As I write this on Wednesday afternoon the body aches still haven't gone away. If it's got cartilage and synovium, it's sore. Just tying my shoes this afternoon I broke out in a cold sweat. I was able to pick up mom's car from the dealership and run a couple of boxes to the post office, but that's all I've got in me for now.
And the dreams last night? I don't want to talk about them. I didn't need them right now.
I'm going back to bed.
Update: 4 November 2021
I woke up about an hour ago and feel surprisingly not too badly. The body aches are pretty much gone and, aside from the "might sort of turn into acne but probably never will" blotches on my face and neck that I've come to associate with a fever breaking over the years I look and feel pretty decent. I guess my immune system has done its thing.
